The Duomo in Florence is one of the largest churches in the world, with its 153 meters (502 feet) in length and 90 meters (295 feet) in height from the floor to the base of the lantern of the dome.
The first stone was laid on 8th September 1296, but it was only consecrated 140 years later, in 1436, by Pope Eugenio IV.
On this tour we will visit this magnificent Cathedral, and we will also visit the Baptistery and the Duomo museum, which holds much of the artwork which was earlier decoration for the Duomo or the Baptistery. Just to mention a few: the original bronze doors by Lorenzo Ghiberti, a Pietà statue by Michelangelo and a most remarkable and unexpected work by Donatello and much more.
This tour takes three and a half hours.
