There are more than 100 churches in Florence! Among the most important, I have designed this tour to visit two of them, major in size and immense concerning the masterpieces located there.
In the first, Santa Maria Novella, you will see artworks by Masaccio, the painter who made the fresco painting considered the dawn of Renaissance painting, and by Domenico Ghirlandaio, the painter who hosted Michelangelo in his workshop for a few years and taught him the art of fresco painting in this church. You will also see a work by the famous Renaissance architect, Filippo Brunelleschi, and you will see the “Last Supper” painted by a woman, a Dominican nun called Plautilla Nelli.
The Santa Croce Church is where Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini are buried, and you will see significant works by Giotto, Brunelleschi, Bronzini and Vasari, just to name a few!!
Sign in and be ready for artworks which will take your breath away.
This tour will take 3.5 hours and we will stop for a coffee break on the way between the two churches.
