The Renaissance is not only about wealthy bankers and incredible artists. It is also about social commitment, an attempt at improvement of general welfare.
On this tour we will look into that aspect of the Renaissance, and you will see beautiful buildings and you will hear stories – often heart-breaking – from the Renaissance.
What happened if a child was abandoned in the Renaissance? How would the Medicis deal with a disabled child? Why is there a window on a Renaissance building which must never be closed? Why did a Renaissance painter got angry and damage his own painting? Why did one of the Medicis kill his own brother?
This tour takes you through stories which are often dramatic and painful, but also stories with a happy ending.
We’ll visit two museums, and we will see great artworks by Brunelleschi, Luca della Robbia, Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Pontormo and many more.
The tour will last 3 hours.
